Arizona bill would protect agriculture companies from lawsuits over foul odors

By the time you notice a new stink in your neighborhood, it might be too late to do anything about it under a proposed law wending through the Arizona Legislature.

Lawmakers are considering shielding agricultural operations from lawsuits by nearby residents over some nuisances like flies, foul odors and worse.

The proposed law, backed by the agricultural industry, also would prohibit cities from regulating agricultural nuisances within municipal boundaries.
