Construction begins for Alamar Park in Avondale

Construction is underway for Alamar Park, a new 40-acre community park east of El Mirage Road, north of Broadway Road, in Avondale. A ceremonial ground breaking took place today, February 3, 2021, at the site of the new park. The event included Avondale Council members and representatives of Brookfield Residential, which is partnering with the City on this project.

When completed in Spring of 2022, Alamar Park will include baseball/softball and multi-use fields, tennis and pickleball courts, playgrounds, lake, splash pad, amphitheater, dog park and picnic ramadas for everyone to enjoy.

“Residents of Avondale remind us that quality of life is a top priority for them, and that means places to recreate, gather, and be active,” said Avondale Mayor Kenn Weise. “The city is proud to add this amenity to our recreational spaces in Avondale, situated in the newest community of Alamar.”
