Scottsdale to vote on bike lanes

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

The Scottsdale City Council is slated to vote on plans to install bike lanes along McDowell Road between Pima Road and 64th Street.

The council is scheduled to vote on acceptance of a $980,341 federal grant through the Maricopa Association of Governments for the project. The funds will help pay for the bike lanes project.

It will consider approving a $3.79 million contract with AJP Electric Inc. for the project which includes narrowing vehicle lanes along McDowell Road to accommodate new bike lanes.

The project will also make irrigation and median strip improvements.

AJP Electric is the preferred bidder for the contract, according to city documents.

The items are on the Scottsdale council’s April 6 agenda.
