The Scottsdale Planning Commission is looking again at ideas to address parking shortages in various areas of the city — including Old Town — after more than a year since the topic was first initiated.
The question is just how much parking is available or needed in downtown Scottsdale and other areas of the city. Last February, the City Council posed these questions, but data wasn’t available.
That data still isn’t available.
Of the reported 18,000 public and private parking spaces in Old Town Scottsdale, the issue appears to settle on the fact that motorists are not aware — or simply can’t find — where to go to park when they arrive downtown.
