Goodyear to award contract for work at police building

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

The Goodyear City Council will look at approving a $1.05 million contract with Tempe-based design and architecture firm Architekton for work on the city’s police building.

The contract is part of a $1.2 million allocation for design services and administration for Goodyear’s Police Building.

The building opened in 2017 and Architekton will provide design services for “space programming” and accommodating staff and operations. The architecture firm will also help improve landscaping and access to the city police building.

The work was temporarily delayed by the COVID pandemic last year.

The council will look at the contract during its May 10 meeting. Architekton is the preferred bidder for the work, according to city staff.
