In mid-January this year, Arizona residents over the age of 21 legally were allowed to buy recreational marijuana. Passing Proposition 207, known as the Smart and Safe Arizona Act, came with the promise of increased economic revenue and new business opportunities.
Under Proposition 207, some people with pending marijuana charges in all Arizona counties can have them dismissed. Starting July 12, people previously convicted of marijuana crimes can petition a court for an order to have their marijuana-related criminal records expunged.
