The Gilbert Town Council will hold a hearing on August 17 on a rezoning request and development plans for 4-story mixed-use restaurant and office building an infill parcel in the Heritage District.

The proposed Brundrett Building would sit on a 0.365-acre parcel at 226 North Gilbert Road.

The rezoning request asks for a Planned Area Development designation to allow for the infill project.

Brundrett Properties Inc. wants to develop the parcels with plans for Class A office space and rooftop amenties.

The Brundertt family owns Nordwood Furniture, a Gilbert fixture located adjacent to the development site.

The council was slated to hold a hearing on the project in May but the issue was moved to a later date.

That hearing date is now Aug. 17.

Gilbert’s planning commission voted against the project while the town’s redevelopment commission voted to support it earlier this year.
