Crypto Times: Decentraland just witnessed meta-marriage for the first time

  • A couple from Phoenix got married in the “digital way” on the Decentraland. This is the first time Decentraland witnessed a Meta-marriage, wedding ceremony on its platform.

On Feb 5, In the Decentraland around 2000 guests and Supreme Court Justice officiant, Clint Bolick attended virtually the marriage of Ryan and Candice Hurley.

To legalize virtual matrimony, the couple has hired Rose Law Group. About this adorable wedding function, Group’s founder and president Jordan Rose claims that this is the first time a wedding was held in any blockchain-based metaverse.

“Because the metaverse is still in its infancy, we have developed the legal paradigm for a legally recognized marriage,” she said.

The function was organized in the virtual estate in the Decentraland, acquired by Rose Law Group. On Decentraland, the group built a “meta-marriage framework” by adding a “Virtual Premarital Agreement” that authenticated the virtual identity of the couple and digital assets from blockchain data.
