Peoria annexation of nearly 200 acres is on homestretch

Peoria is on the homestretch of annexing nearly 200 acres of Arizona State Land into the city, at the northwest corner of 109th Avenue and Rose Garden Lane.

The upcoming annexation is one of several the city of Peoria has planned, officials say.

City Council, on March 22, approved a Pre-Annexation Development Agreement with the Arizona State Land Department, which recognized the benefits the annexation will have to the state trust, Planning Director Chris Jacques said.

Additionally, the pre-annexation agreement establishes framework for bringing forward this annexation and forthcoming entitlement cases.
