Empire Group buys land near TSMC chip factory

The Empire Group of Cos. paid $14.37 million in cash for a 40-acre parcel near Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.’s chip factory being built in north Phoenix.

As TSMC builds its plant and other vendors and suppliers move to the area to support TSMC, there will be a huge need for more housing, said Richard Felker, founding partner of Empire Group.
