Local residents are fighting construction of the new Cholla Trailhead access on Camelback Mountain

PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) – Construction of the new access point for the Cholla Trail trailhead at Camelback Mountain is proceeding despite objections from local residents.

Construction for the new access path is on Invergordon Road, just off Camelback Road. You have the Phoenician golf course on one side and residential buildings directly on the other side of the new access point.

These residents are concerned about safety and parking, and feel the city hasn’t given them enough say in the matter.

Gene and Janie Morrison built their home right on Camelback Mountain in 2002—they couldn’t beat the desert views and privacy. But now they said that will change.
