The Mesa City Council approved an ordinance 7-0 Nov. 18 that will pave the way for a multifamily development.

The project is to be constructed within the 100 block of North 56th Street and the 100 block of North 57th Street.

According to council documents, this development, called The Five Six, will be a 32-unit, three-story development with 68 parking spaces. The vote introduced the ordinance, which will rezone the area from limited commercial to multiple residence-4 with a planned area development overlay and site plan review, during the Nov. 18 meeting and set Dec. 2 as the date for the council to hold a public hearing on it.
