Paradise Valley Planning Commission has been provided with additional information on Scottsdale Plaza Resort’s intermediate special use permit amendment to redevelop a portion of the site.
The Planning Commission met April 4 to complete the review of the application and look at the additional information, which was requested Feb. 7.
Redevelopment of Scottsdale Plaza Resort is focused on the east side of the 36.5 acre property, including an addition of 64 guest units, three new restaurants, a new spa and pool area, new lobby pavilion, enhanced landscaping and lighting and underground parking.
The resort is at 7200 N. Scottsdale Road on the northwest corner of Scottsdale and Indian Bend roads, bordering the residential communities of Cheney Place and Adobe Ranch Unit One.
A public hearing for Scottsdale Plaza Resort’s redevelopment application is May 2, as Paradise Valley Town Council has granted an extension of the review period.
At the meeting April 4, the Planning Commission expressed a desire to hear directly from the architect and engineer about some concerns related to blending old and new architecture and reducing parking spaces, so a special meeting will be held April 18 before the public hearing.
