MARICOPA — Global Water has completed a number of projects and improvements in the last year and says that they’re planning a few more.
Jon Corwin, Global Water vice president and general manager, highlighted a number of the changes for City Council at Tuesday’s council meeting.
In 2022, the utility added 1,137 water connections and 1,105 wastewater connections.
They pumped 2.8 billions gallons of water, but have saved about 10.7 billion gallons since 2004.
Global Water completed some key projects in 2022 and chief among them was the main break prevention project.
To address main break prevention, the company deployed specialized pressure logging equipment to minimize the source of transient pressures, which are short lived pressure waves giving fast changes in the pressure of the pipe.
