Goodyear will host the fourth annual Western Wiffle Ball Championship Oct. 21 at Goodyear Ballpark.

Sixteen-year-old Logan Rose created the league during the COVID-19 pandemic to promote being outside and active. The annual tournament has grown to more than 75 teams and has seen participants from across the country.

“Watching the Western Wiffle Ball Championship’s growth over the years – seeing more teams, spectators and surprise guests show up and compete at the tournament has been just as exciting as it is rewarding,” Rose said. “At last year’s tournament, YouTuber Eric Sim, also known as the King of JUCO, came out to play which was incredible.”

The 2023 Western Wiffle Ball Championship will have up to 40 teams of three to five players. Depending on player abilities, teams can register to compete in one of two divisions. Due to no base running, players of all ages and athleticism can easily participate.
