Major projects gaining steam in Maricopa

MARICOPA — The city of Maricopa is gearing up excitement for some major projects that are seeing some substantial progress.

The four projects, which consist of about $70 million worth of budget, are the Sonoran Desert Parkway, Lakeview Park, the municipal court building and the new police building.

The parkway bridge deck is paved along with one lane in each direction on Porter Road. The route follows Farrell Road and will provide improvements eventually to connect with Interstate 10 in Casa Grande.

Bridge work is nearing completion with the guard rails up and secure soon. The curb and gutter are poured on Porter Road.
