A local marijuana dispensary’s effort to get a drive-thru at one of its locations took a hit July 12.
The Scottsdale Planning Commission voted 4-2 against recommending the city council make a text amendment to the city ordinance in order to allow drive-thrus at marijuana dispensaries.
The issue is not dead though. The council still has to vote on the issue and could vote against the commission’s recommendation.
Commission chair Renee Higgs and member George Ertel voted against the motion — effectively voting to recommend the council make the switch.
That left commissioners Christian Serena, Barney Gonzales and Diana Kaminski and vice chair Joe Young voting to recommend the council deny the request.
