Utah data center firm enters AZ market with land purchase

Wes Swenson was the only one to raise a paddle at Tuesday’s state land auction. The CEO of Utah-based Novva Data Centers cracked a soft smile while doing so and moments later was declared the winner of 165 acres of southeast Mesa land near Warner and Ellsworth roads, just to the east of the Loop 202 freeway.

Swenson’s firm will pay $62.7 million for the land, which was the appraised value and minimum bid for the auction.
