Arizona cities among worst for retirement

Retiring in the Grand Canyon State is not new to many retirees. Arizona witnessed about 840,000 retirees aged 60+ in recent years. Despite trailing Florida in terms of relocation attractiveness, Arizona is considered one of the most popular retirement destinations in recent years. But new data shows that it might not be as ideal as everyone thought as two Arizona cities rank in the Top 10 worst cities for retirement. 

Our team at ConsumerAffairs ranked Lake Havasu City, AZ as #1 and Flagstaff, AZ as #6 worst cities for retirement in the U.S. in 2023. Lake Havasu City ranks last due to the cost of living, preventive services for 65+, park access, access to healthy foods and weather.
