ELOY — For his work in Eloy and in the Hispanic community, Mayor Micah Powell was honored at the Sept. 15 Arizona Diamondbacks’ game by Cox Communications as part of National Hispanic Heritage Month.

Cox honored eight leaders in all, four from the metro Phoenix area and four from communities to the south of the Valley.

Powell was first elected to the City Council in 2012 and then as mayor in 2020.

A Hispanic Leadership Institute graduate, he’s a strong supporter of bringing and keeping jobs in Eloy and is committed to working with everyone regardless of their political party and the area they represent.
