Fiesta Mall demolition continues

The demolition of the 1.2-million square foot Fiesta Mall is about 60% complete, a spokesman for site co-owner Verde Investments said last week.

Crews began knocking down the walls in mid-July. A project manager estimated at the time the job would take about four months.

While the demolition is sailing to completion, what is publicly known of the owner’s future plans for the site remains the same as in the summer: Verde Investments has met with city planning staff for a preliminary meeting on a redevelopment master plan.
