Surprise city officials don’t usually mess around when it comes to the influential retail survey it conducts each year to gauge what Surprise business and restaurants residents want.
Just ask In-N-Out Burger and Costco, two businesses residents wanted for years and finally got, thanks in part to the retail survey.
The latest target on the list: Swedish furniture and home goods giant IKEA, which has a store 50 miles away in Tempe, but has indicated it wants to expand with 17 stores in the U.S. market in the near future.
