It’s time for the City of Scottsdale to start tightening its budgetary belt.
That was the major take away from city treasurer Sonia Andrews quarterly financial report to the city council Feb. 6.
The city’s sales tax is flattening out, the city is set to lose revenue streams it has relied on in the state statutes, and the city is bumping up against the state mandated expenditure limitation.
But the biggest reason the budget will be constrained in future years is the state mandated expenditure tax, unless a permanent base adjustment is approved to increase the limit, Andrews told the Daily Independent.
