New Oasis is taking shape in Surprise

An oasis is soon coming to Surprise — Rescue Oasis, that is.

The city has revealed updated plans for the joint aquatics center and fire station near Cactus and Perryville roads, showing off more shade throughout the complex in a design that’s 90% complete.

Parks and Recreation Director Holly Osborn showed off the new plans to the Surprise City Council in late February.

The pool complex, which is basically a mini-water park, will feature multiple slides, spring boards, a rock-climbing wall, a rope swing and more.

“It’s an aquatic center, but it’s also a hub,” Councilmember Jack Hastings said at Feb. 20 City Council meeting.
