LG putting construction ‘on hold’ for portion of QC facility.

QUEEN CREEK, Ariz. — LG has confirmed a portion of their multi-billion dollar battery facility has been put on hold in Queen Creek. 

The project was originally announced in 2022 and was expected to cost $5.5 billion. 

The LG plant was expected to manufacture cylindrical batteries, which offer compact energy storage that’s ideal for electric cars. The facility was said to be the first of its kind in North America.
