City Manager Henry Darwin has selected Jeff Curran as the new Development and Engineering Director. He joins the city with over 30 years of development and engineering experience.
Jeff’s experience across his three plus decades has spanned a wide range of development and engineering projects from small commercial developments to large scale master planned communities across much of the Western US as well as multi-nationally. Across his career he has spent significant time as a consulting engineer, development consultant, owners’ representative, business executive, and as a developer/owner.
Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President for 29th Street Capital, Phoenix, (2021-2023) identifying new development projects and led the entitlements and construction plan development for more than $250 million of multi-family and build-to-rent projects.
“Jeff’s professional experience in civil engineering, strategic planning, and land development, is very impressive and we are fortunate to bring him on board, as we have many large capital improvement projects and private development projects either underway, or in the pipeline,” said City Manager Henry Darwin. “I also want to thank Dan Nissen for his leadership in stepping up as our Interim Director over the past few months to keep us on track.”
“Peoria has some amazing opportunities during this impressive time of growth, and I am honored to serve the residents to ensure what we are doing aligns with the vision to keep the community a beautiful and thriving place,” said Curran.
Curran holds a Bachelors and Masters of Science in Civil Engineering degrees from the University of Washington.
Curran’s first day with Peoria is June 3.
