Town of Paradise ValleyPlanning Commission

01/07/24
Proposed amendments to the Town zoning ordinances include language that communications with Town staff, including application meetings and correspondence, are not to be factually relied upon.If enacted, this ordinance language would mean applicants for development projects would not be able to rely on any information given to them by a member of the Town Staff as factually certain, including scheduled meetings with Town Planning Staff, unless they receive a formal written determination form the Zoning Administrator. This significantly increases the risk of engaging and seeking advice from Town staff for prospective developers, because incorrect statements by staff that result in financial loss to the developer will not be considered in application determinations.
