Development Services Director Lopez to be Coolidge’s next city manager

By Jacob Dorsey | Pinal Central

COOLIDGE — The City Council has hired Development Services Director Gilbert Lopez as the next city manager, pending the retirement of Rick Miller.

During the Monday, Aug. 12, council meeting, a two-year employment agreement was approved, which Lopez accepted.

“I’m deeply honored to be considered,” Lopez said. “I really look forward to working with the mayor, vice mayor and the council to achieve your goals and objectives to move the city forward.”

Miller retires later this month after eight years as city manager. He earlier had retired as Casa Grande’s planning director and filled that role in Coolidge before becoming city manager.
