The city of Peoria may have landed another post-fab service provider as part of the burgeoning semiconductor supply chain forming in the north Valley.
Phoenix-based Hyperion Technologies has announced plans to build a 600,000-square-foot, high-volume semiconductor substrate manufacturing facility on 45 acres in the Vistancia area of north Peoria, according to the company’s website.
The company website goes on to say the Peoria project will create thousands of jobs and billions in economic input.
But both the city and Hyperion aren’t saying much about it other than what is on the company’s website. As such, Peoria released a statement with very few details three days after requests from the Independent, saying the city neither “received a pre-application, nor a site plan application for this project,” and that any questions regarding Hyperion Technologies should be directed to the company.
Hyperion is a post-fab foundry specializing in high-density interconnect advanced semiconductor packaging.
