Banner Health’s plans to build a $400 million health care campus near the intersection of North Hayden Road and the Loop 101 are still on track to begin construction this year.
The Scottsdale City Council is set to vote during its Sept. 10 meeting on a development agreement to bring water and sewer services to an 85-acre plot of land in the area that includes Banner’s 48 acres for the new facility.
“City funding for the entire project will be capped at the available budgeted amount ($6,100,000 water and $960,000 sewer) and the developer will fund any costs above the budgeted amount,” a city staff report says.
Banner officials are also hoping to get approval for the first phase of the project, a medical office building on about 15 acres, by Scottsdale’s development review board during either it’s Sept. 12 or Sept. 19 meeting. Agendas for both meetings have not yet been set.
That segment of Banner’s property is already zoned for medical offices so all Banner needs is approval from the development review board on the aesthetics.
