Mattel park, VAI delays tweak Glendale budget

For the first time, delays to the opening of Mattel Adventure Park and the larger surrounding VAI Resort are having a tangible impact on Glendale city budget projections.

Mattel announced on Oct. 28 the opening date for the theme park would move from late 2024 to 2025 as part of VAI’s phase one opening. In July, VAI announced phased openings starting at 2025 after originally projecting a 2024 opening.
