Casa Grande P&Z approves requests for Ivanhoe Electric mining project

CASA GRANDE — The Casa Grande Planning and Zoning Commission approved a new car wash, denied a zone change for an existing apartment complex and approved a number of requests for copper mining company Ivanhoe Electric at Thursday’s meeting.

The commission unanimously approved a proposed car wash business to be situated in the downtown area at 355 W. Florence Blvd. Applicant Felix Garcia Aranda Jr. of Arizona City sought a conditional use permit for a car wash and detailing establishment which will be known as A&G Auto Detailing.

A zone change from R-3 (Multifamily) to Planned Area Development for higher density multifamily use pertaining to 2060 N. Trekell Road on approximately 11 acres was denied.
