Florence town manager talks future housing, transportation

FLORENCE — Just the number of housing projects planned and ongoing in Florence — 20,000 new houses in the next 10 years by one estimate — raises questions about how prepared the town is and what their effect will be.

But Town Manager Bruce Walls said he isn’t too worried yet.

“I’m comfortable with what I see coming in,” he said in a year-end interview with PinalCentral. “I know that our developers are engaged in the town, they’re engaged with councilmembers. We’re talking to figure out what’s going to be best for the town. And I think we’re on the right path in terms of development here and time for development here.
