The city of Goodyear collected $152.1 million in sales tax revenue during the 2024 fiscal year, a 32% increase from the previous year.
Officials from Goodyear’s Finance Department attribute the growth to a rise in population and increased commercial activity across key sectors.
Sales tax revenue is a primary funding source for city operations, supporting public safety, infrastructure maintenance, and other essential services. Some of the revenue increase was offset by agreements made with developers to fund public infrastructure projects.
The city issued more than 3,300 building permits in 2024, double the number from prior years, reflecting increased housing and commercial construction.
