The Tempe Development Review Commission recently approved a construction document for Tempe Townhomes, a new residential development that will create 35 dwelling units.
During the April 22 meeting, the commission voted to approve the development plan review for Tempe Townhomes at 2152 E. Wildermuth Drive. The development plan review, which includes the site plan, building elevations and landscape plan, was approved on consent.
City planner Lucas Jensen explained in a staff report that the new single-family residential townhome development consists of seven three-story buildings with 35 dwelling units on a little under 2 acres.
“There are three building types, a four-plex, five-plex and seven-plex with a total of six two-bedroom units and 19 three-bedroom units in the development,” Jensen stated.
Required parking for the development is provided through a two-car garage for the three-bedroom units and a one-car garage and surface parking for two-bedroom units. There are also 13 surface parking spaces on site for guest parking.
Currently, there are two single-family homes on the site, which will be demolished as part of the proposed project, according to Jensen.
