Monster industrial project underway in Scottsdale

With shock and awe, North Scottsdale residents are watching the early phases of the city’s largest industrial project.

New neighbors will be plentiful on both sides of the Loop 101, which itself is undergoing a widening transformation.

Some of the newcomers may be living on Axon’s campus on the south side of Loop 101 – but, even without prolonged legal battles, the apartments-hotel-office plan is years from coming to fruition.

Two miles away, a project that is many times the scale of the Taser maker’s plan is charging ahead.

The actual “neighbors” remain a mystery – though the scale suggests they certainly won’t be “mom and pop” operations.

Near Pima Road and the Loop 101, construction on the first of 11 planned industrial buildings at Mack Innovation Park is underway.

According to a Mack spokesman, the first two buildings of phase are under construction with a planned completion early next year. “A massive amount of civil work for drainage, etc. is also nearing completion,” the spokesman said.
