City dangles incentive for Mesa project

The city wants to dangle tax reimbursements capped at $6.36 million to ensure a developer completes all 328,425 square feet of commercial plans, including five “high-quality” full-service restaurants, at a mixed-use project in East Mesa.

Council last week signaled its intent to adopt on July 1 the development agreement with the incentive. 

It would apply just to the 40 acres set aside for commercial in the 64.5-acre Medina Station, which includes approximately 700 multifamily units by a different developer. The site is near Southern Avenue and Signal Butte Road, north of US 60.
