What is life like in Maricopa?

Before it became one of Arizona’s fastest–growing cities, Maricopa was a dot on the map, a pit stop on open desert trails, where a lone traveler might pause to dust off and ask the townsfolk, “What’s it like living here?” 

Last week, that same question came in a modern form: a Reddit post. 

“I’m moving for work, how is life in Maricopa city?” asked user hexagonaltomato on the r/Maricopa subreddit, a corner of the internet that rarely sees more than a handful of posts a week. 

This one caught fire.
