ARIZONA CITY — A top Arizona Water Company official addressed data centers’ “tire-kicking” phase, affirmed a January 2026 date for the company’s official designation as a water provider, and warmly announced an overhaul of the company’s customer service interface.
David Dunaway, general manager of Arizona Water Company’s area division, touched on a myriad of looming water topics on Nov. 20. Dunaway spoke at a monthly Arizona City Chamber of Commerce meeting where residents, businesses and stakeholders gather for lunch. Thursday’s meeting was held at the Arizona City Golf Club’s Tap Inn restaurant.
Dunaway’s appearance served to touch base with a local Pinal community, Arizona City, where he said many of AWC’s brightest employees live — including Colton Dober, who works in treatment and maintenance and spoke alongside Dunaway.
“It’s a point of pride for us that our employees live in the communities that we serve,” Dunaway said. Amidst the highlighted topics, Dunaway said Arizona is in a “transitional” phase — clarifying that the state remains in a post-COVID phase — and took complicated questions from an engaged audience wondering about and implicating topics of increased development, possible applications of wastewater effluent, water leases, Colorado River reductions and water politics.
