The Arizona Cardinals just struck gold in the desert thanks to a little luck of the Irish. With the third overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals selected running back Jeremiyah Love.
This is a pick that surely sham-rocked fans across the Valley! The 6-foot, 212-pound standout from the University of Notre Dame made recent history as the highest-drafted running back since 2018.
“I have long said that sports are an economic driver,” said Supervisor Thomas Galvin, District 2. “When our teams win, our economy thrives. Jeremiyah Love contributed to many Fighting Irish wins and I’m certain he will drive many wins for the Cardinals and enjoy a great career, on and off the field, in Arizona.”
Supervisor Galvin, a proud University of Notre Dame Law School alumnus, is a longtime fan of both the Fighting Irish and the Cardinals and can often be found cheering on both teams throughout football season.
“I extend my deepest congratulations to Cardinals owner Michael Bidwill, General Manager Monti Ossenfort, Jeremiyah Love, and football fans across Maricopa County,” Galvin added. “Between the luck of the Irish and a whole lot of talent, there’s a lot more to Love in Arizona today!”
