Supervisor Miller joins state water board

By Noah Cullen | Pinal Central

Pinal County Supervisor Steve Miller, a longtime water advocate, has been appointed to the statewide board focused on maintaining water infrastructure, Water Infrastructure Finance Authority of Arizona.

Throughout his time on the Pinal County Board of Supervisors, Miller has fought to make sure the state’s third largest county is not left out to dry when the state’s legislators work on water policy. Two major achievements, on which Miller had been specifically focused, are the state’s ag-to-urban program, which became law in September 2025, and securing a pathway toward an alternative designation for an assured water supply, which Arizona Water Company now has.

“I am truly honored by my appointment to the WIFA board. With Pinal County experiencing explosive growth and leading the way in innovative water solutions — such as our recent 100-year assured water supply milestone — I look forward to bringing a practical, rural and solutions-focused perspective to the board,” Miller said in a statement.
