Maricopa commuters get another chance next week to weigh in on the state transportation plan that funds the long-awaited State Route 347 widening.
The Arizona Department of Transportation will hold a public hearing May 15 on its tentative 2027-31 Five-Year Transportation Facilities Construction Program, the same plan that includes $86 million for widening SR 347 in Pinal County.
ADOT released the draft plan March 2, opening a public comment period that runs through May 22 before the Arizona State Transportation Board considers final approval June 19.
But the May 15 hearing is the next formal step in that review process, giving residents a chance to comment before the five-year program is finalized.
The hearing will be held during a meeting of the Arizona State Transportation Board. It can be accessed virtually at this link or attended in person at the Cameron Chapter House on U.S. Route 89 in Cameron. Residents who want to speak remotely must request to do so by 8 a.m. the day of the hearing using instructions on the board’s website.
