“Site Selection Magazine” has named the Amkor Technology project at the Peoria Innovation Core the “Number One Deal in North America.”
“Site Selection Magazine” ranked the project first among all North American economic development deals based on capital investment and job creation after Amkor announced plans to expand its Peoria advanced semiconductor packaging and test campus from an initial $2 billion investment to $7 billion, creating approximately 3,000 high-wage jobs with an average salary of $90,000 annually.
The publication noted the significant role semiconductor manufacturing is playing in reshaping the North American economy following passage of the CHIPS and Science Act, which has helped drive nearly $53 billion in domestic semiconductor manufacturing and research investment nationwide.
