Downtown Mesa getting upscale boutique hotel

City Council is scheduled July 27 to consider three agreements – for development, parking and a tax break – for the proposed AC Hotel by Marriott. Breakwell Group is the developer.

“This project isn’t just about building a hotel,” said Stefanie Monge, Urban Transformation project manager at the June 8 study session. “This project delivers tangible community benefits that will benefit Mesa residents.

“This is an opportunity to add an upscale hospitality product that complements the investments, both private and public, that have been made in the area, while ensuring that the project aligns with the city’s goals for economic development, tourism and downtown revitalization.”
