If Gov. Katie Hobbs and other Democrats want to win the November election, they’ll likely need to garner support from younger voters and independents.
A new poll shows Hobbs has staked an early advantage with voters between the ages of 18-34 ahead of the election, but she’s lagging with those over 50.
Hobbs leads Congressman Andy Biggs in the gubernatorial race overall 52%-44%, buoyed by a 76%-22% advantage among younger voters, according to the poll commissioned by AARP in partnership with Republican polling group Fabrizio Ward and Democratic pollsters Impact Research.
Hobbs also scored favorably with women, Hispanic voters, college graduates and the independent voters she’s been aggressively courting during the course of her campaign.
