Estimates from various studies show Surprise’s population by 2035 is likely to creep up on 300,000 residents — more than double its current population.
That means the water demand is expected to more than double in the Surprise service area by then.
City leaders are doing what they can now to plan for the high-demand days ahead.
The city is in the midst of updating its Water Resource Master Plan, which it does every five years to look into the future of water demands and how to serve them.
