Text messages, eyewitness corroborate part of complaint against Arizona Sen. Wendy Rogers

An eyewitness and text messages appear to corroborate some of what a former staffer at the Legislature alleged in an ethics complaint against a state senator, who was accused of creating a hostile work environment, a report released Monday shows.

The former staff member, Michael Polloni, said in his complaint that state Sen. Wendy Rogers, R-Flagstaff, made comments about his weight and his family, pressured him to work while he was on leave for COVID-19 and yelled at him about office decorations.

The report, released Monday by Senate Rules Attorney Chris Kleminich, was based on interviews of 11 people, along with text message evidence. It presents two starkly different takes on the brief two-month working relationship between Rogers and Polloni.
