Three-wheeled electric vehicle maker chooses East Valley for assembly plant

ElectraMeccanica Vehicles Corp., the electric vehicle maker that produces a three-wheeled, one-person vehicle, announced Tuesday that it will establish its assembly facility in Mesa.

The company had narrowed its choices to the greater Phoenix area and Nashville after a nationwide search that lasted more than a year. When fully operational, the facility is expected to create 500 new jobs and be capable of producing 20,000 vehicles, called the Solo, every year.
