Mesa could sell city owned property

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

The city of Mesa has been looking at its real estate holdings in the Main Street and downtown area.

The Mesa City Council will be asked to authorize the sale of the city owned property at 52 North MacDonald.

The building was constructed in 1964 at the corner of First Street and MacDonald.

Meldrum’s Mortuary has been leasing the property since 1965. The mortuary has approached the city about buying the property which is appraised at $60,000.

The long-term lease with the city would then be terminated.

The council will consider the sale at its May 17 meeting.
