A new post-capitalistic, sustainable city of the future — which could be home to 5 million people — is being proposed by former Walmart and Jet.com executive Marc Lore and architecture firm Bjarke Ingels.
The futuristic city centered on economic and social equity is called Telosa.
It’s from the ground up, blank slate location has not been determined but Arizona, Nevada, Idaho, Utah, Texas and the Appalachian region are being considered for the ambitious project.
Lore’s concept for Telosa is a post-capitalistic urban system called Equitism.
The idea is to build a city of entrepreneurs and innovators and link market gains and wealth generation with community ownership and community growth.
Inclusive growth is the goal.
There are still some large parcels of land in Arizona for potential large-scale developments.
A real estate entity linked to Microsoft founder Bill Gates owns close to 25,000 acres of land in far western Maricopa County for potential development and a new city.
Lore said Telosa is Greek phrase for “Higher Purpose” coined by Aristotle
